SOKRATHERM has moved its head office within Hiddenhausen

The new SOKRATHERM building was erected at Buender Strasse 179 in Hiddenhausen.

After over fourty years of exciting cogeneration history in Milchstrasse 12  we have moved within Hiddenhausen to Buender Strasse 179 and left our company’s „incubator“, a former barn transformed into an office and production site by our company founder. The half-timbered building, which had been expanded and redesigned several times, does not fit our idea of a modern workspace any more.

The move into the new office building, located just a hundred meters from the old building, is a big step for us from one floor to three plus underground car park with a total of 1700 m² office, meeting, training and common rooms. As before our company management and administration as well as the departments for sales, project management and product development are located here.

The building was erected within a bit more than a year directly next to a forest and furnished with a wooden facade to match the environment.  Of course it was focused on sustainability right from the start: It was built on a former swimming pool to seal as little land as possible and designed to create an ideal working climate with minimal energy input. It also complies with the needs of the employees who commute by bicycle and/or wish to improve their health in the company fitness room.

Just like its predecessor the new building is supplied with heat and power by a heating center in which a compact CHP unit GG 50 generates 50 kW power and, due to integrated condensing heat technology, up to 107 kW heat with excellent efficiency. It also supplies numerous neighbouring buildings connected by a district heating network. Also a 30 kWp solar power plant with battery storage and e-mobility charging stations for employees and visitors are part of the sustianability concept. An intelligent control system makes sure that the CHP unit and the battery storage balance the fluctuating power production of the solar unit perfectly.
