The SUMMIT technology center in Siegen-Martinshardt was completed after only 18 months construction time and moved into in Q1/2019. It serves as the new headquarter for five companies owned by the ifm electronic GmbH which cover the full industry 4.0 value chain from the intelligent sensor up to the data analysis and transfer into ERP systems.
To cover all energy needs of the 450 workplaces including conference rooms, Cafeteria and gym we have delivered a containerized energy center: Our compact CHP unit GG 100 with an electric capacity of 100 kW and 164 kW thermal produces together with an 116 kW absorption chiller the baseload of heat, power and climatization cooling. Additionally, for especially hot or cold days we have provided 500 kW of heating (boiler) and cooling (compression coolers) capacity as well as an emergency power unit.
During the first six months after its commissioning in late 2018 the CHP unit has, at first for the construction site, provided ca. 330.000 kWh power and 560.000 kWh heat. Because of the cooling option via trigeneration it also operates in the summer and will probably reach 7.000 h/a operating time which is extraordinarily high for office buildings.
